RECRUITMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Cross country running opportunities are available across the nation at both the NCAA(national collegiate association)and NAIA(national association of intercollegiate athletics)ranks. Both NCAA and NAIA administer college athletics. These associations organize national championships and pass the rules that each of their members must follow to be eligible to participate in intercollegiate athletics and to compete for regional championships. The top athletic departments compete in NCAA Division 1 while NCAA Division 2 and NCAA Division 3 are roughly on par with NAIA as far as quality of teams go. The NJCAA(national jr. college athletic association)sponsors junior college for both men and women. This is a great opportunity for runners who are not academically eligible for a four year college, want to develop more as an athlete before moving onto a larger school, plans to earn an asssociate degree, or JR. college makes the most financial since for them.
